SUSAN'S STORY

Sue Keddy was born into a pastor’s home and then became a pastor’s wife.  After a decade of pastoring, Jim and Sue together with their two boys, left the country and moved to the Dominican Republic where they adopted a little slum called Rio Mar and were changed forever.  They were deeply touched as they watched hundreds come to know their Jesus.

After a short six months, they left the DR and followed Jesus to Hong Kong, where they were honored to share ‘THE STORY of all stories’ to tens of thousands of Chinese students, in hundreds of schools across the territory.  Again, they stood awe-struck as assembly halls filled with searching hearts would stand declaring their faith in Jesus. In their second year, Jim became the Bible Teacher at Munsang College, a non-Christian Chinese Primary School and High School where for the next decade he taught the life of Jesus, while Sue taught English to a thousand Chinese students at Creative Primary School and Kindergarten, using Bible stories.  As well as teaching, they pastored a beautiful group of Filipinos and took trips into the north west frontier province of Pakistan, a country and a people they had fallen in love with.

In their 16th year as they were reading God’s Word together, Jim had a massive heart attack and went to heaven, leaving Sue on earth, where she discovered that Jesus was her best friend, that His ways could be trusted and that He was good at turning ashes into beauty and giving pain eternal worth.

She proved this to be true again, when nine months later, her only sibling, Dwight, succumbed to Multiple Myeloma, and two years after that her mother died of a brain aneurism, and less than two years later, her Dad died as the result of a car accident.

After eighteen incredible years in Hong Kong, she followed Jesus back to Canada where for the next decade she was the Women’s Director for the Western Ontario District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.  That adventure took her into every town and city in Western Ontario, including the far north, as well as around the globe, making her Jesus famous. The mandate was to empty the church and let them know that they weren’t made to sit on a pew, but rather to be the hands and feet and heart of Jesus to the lost, the lonely, the broken and the forgotten.  She began what were called, “We are Christ Days” where the body of Christ came together as one, to do multiple, well planned, acts of kindness in over fifty towns. She also hosted annual conferences for women, where they were reminded that no matter what, Jesus truly is enough.

In 2013, Maurice Tuck came to her home for supper.  When he walked through her doors, the same voice that had called Jim and Sue to sell all they owned and leave their country back in 1989, and had comforted Sue through every goodbye, and compelled her to come back to Canada, clearly told her to come alongside Maurice and fan his flame in whatever way she could.  Her prayers for Maurice began even before he left her home that night - and they have continued to this day and will never stop.

The more she prayed, the more burdened she became for Haiti.  The more burdened she became, the more she prayed, and the more she prayed, the more Jesus showed her, and the more Jesus showed her, the more she knew that her whole life had been preparation for what He is about to do in in this nation that so needs a Savior. On her knees, Jesus has taken her into the astounding tomorrows that have been written in heaven for that nation, since before there were stars.

In 2016, Maurice and Sue founded ‘DREAM BIG WITH US’, and the rest as they say, is history.

Sue is ‘Nanny Sue’ to William, Caleb, Ella, Erica, Lucy and Clare who she prays every day will come to realize, that there is nothing more exciting than following and obeying Jesus – and that they too will prove throughout their lives that He is enough – that He never lies, never fails, never forsakes and never, ever breaks a promise!

She and Maurice live with child-like wonder for what has been, for what is, and with ginormous expectation for all that they KNOW is coming, for this nation that they have been commissioned to love, since before the foundations of the world were ever laid!!

Their prayer will always be, “God’s way!  God’s time! All for God’s Glory!”

Their answer to whatever He asks, will always be an abandoned “YES!!!”
